Corporate Tax Registration and Its Impact on Your Business
orporate Tax Key Highlights:
✔️ Effective Date: Corporate Tax Law applies from 1st June 2023.
✔️ Tax Rate: Standard corporate tax rate is 9%.
✔️ Tax-Free Slab: Income up to AED 375,000 is taxed at 0%.
✔️ Free Zone Rates: 0% for qualifying income, 9% for non-qualifying income.
✔️ Registration: All companies and individuals engaged in business in the UAE must register for Corporate Tax and obtain a registration number.
✔️ Filing: Corporate Tax returns must be filed electronically on the Federal Tax Authority website.
✔️ Deadline: Tax returns must be filed within 9 months after the end of the financial year.
✔️ Small Business Relief: Businesses with annual turnover below AED 3 million can apply for relief, subject to conditions.
✔️ Bookkeeping: Proper books of accounts must be maintained as per approved standards and be readily available for inspection.
✔️ Auditing: Mandatory for businesses with annual turnover over AED 50 million and for qualifying free zones.
✔️ Record Keeping: Records must be maintained for at least 7 years after the end of the tax year.
