Did your charity accidentally cross the audit threshold?
It happens more often than you think. An unexpected grant or a sudden spike in community donations can push your organisation into a higher reporting tier. If your books aren’t ready, compliance season quickly becomes a mad scramble.
The risk is that this could delay funding, is a compliance red flag and can result in massive stress.
The reality is that auditors auditors want clean records, clear cross-referencing, and robust internal controls.

if this is you, dont panic, we are ready to get you sorted. Visit https://nfpfinancepartner.com.au/ to book a comprehensive audit readiness review.

Most NFP board members are busy professionals who don’t have time to wade through 50 pages of spreadsheets.

To make your financial meetings more effective, I recommend you focus on a "Dashboard" of just three key metrics;

First, check your Cash Runway: how many months of operation do you have left? This is important for planning and sustainability.

Second, look at budget vs. Actuals: are you spending what you said you would? If not, it is probably time to make some adjustments to reflect what is actually going on.

Third, monitor your Reserve Ratio to ensure you aren't dipping into your emergency funds. If you are, you might want to look a bit deeper on what’s bleeding you.

By highlighting these three things, you give the board the clarity they need to make strategic decisions. It transforms the meeting from a confusing audit into a high-level strategy session. Focusing on the future and not merely what has already happened.
