Most people at Aero Group have had their profile written by Dayna.

This one's hers.

Dayna joined Aero Group as Office Manager, supporting the firm's Queensland offices. If you've noticed things running more smoothly since then, that's probably why.

She's the kind of person who sees a problem and is already three steps into fixing it before most people have finished describing it. As Office Manager, Dayna supports Aero Group's Queensland offices across operations, administration, marketing, events and project coordination, helping teams stay connected. No two days look the same. Her calendar is a revolving door of projects, people and problem-solving.

The chaos is the job, and she genuinely thrives on it.

For all the projects and problem-solving, it's the human moments she remembers most. One client mentioned a hobby in passing during a visit, and a brief conversation became a genuine connection. Now, every time he comes in, they take a few minutes to catch up before talking business.

"We're working with people, not just paperwork," she says.

For Dayna, success isn't just about keeping things running. It's about creating consistency across Aero Group's Queensland offices, making it easier for teams to collaborate and ensuring every client receives the same great experience, wherever they visit.

Her colleagues call her resourceful. She'd call herself determined. Leroy, her Staffy and self-appointed walking supervisor, would probably just call her late for their walk.

Weekends look nothing like the office: upcycling furniture, resin art, painting, getting out on the water, or rearranging a space until it's exactly right. If she weren't at Aero Group, she'd likely be running an interior design business, restoring furniture, or studying human behaviour. Which, come to think of it, she's already doing.

"I believe great client service is about making life easier, finding solutions, and treating people like people, not just another file."

Q4 BAS is due July 28. That's 20 days away. πŸ“‹

If your books aren't reconciled yet β€” this is the week to sort it.

Late or incorrect BAS lodgements attract ATO penalties. And missed GST credits mean you're paying more than you should.

The Aero team handles it all: βœ… Reconcile and review your accounts βœ… Identify every GST credit you're entitled to βœ… Lodge accurately and on time

Don't leave it until the last week of July.

πŸ‘‡ Comment "BAS" and we'll send you the link to get started with the Aero team this week.

The financial year just reset. πŸ—“οΈ

July 1 is the most underrated day in the financial calendar.

Everyone's focused on June 30. But the businesses that win financially next year are the ones who use July to get ahead β€” not catch up.

Three moves worth making this month:
01 β€” Review your structure. Is your entity still right for where you're heading?
02 β€” Set your 90-day cash flow targets. Know your numbers before any other decision.
03 β€” Maximise super from day one. The cap is $30,000. Start now, not in May.

We help business owners do all three β€” tax, structure, cash flow, lending and wealth. One team, one plan, the whole year.

It's a new financial year β€” and the same three questions land in our inbox every July 1.

We've answered all three in this post. Swipe through. πŸ‘‰

❓ Can I still claim deductions I missed before June 30?
❓ When do I actually need to lodge my tax return?
❓ What should my first financial move be in the new financial year?

The short version:

No β€” FY2025-26 is closed. But July 1 is the best day to make sure you don't miss the same things next year.

You have more time to lodge than you think β€” but don't rush it.

And the businesses that win financially next June are already planning right now β€” not next May.

If you want to map out FY2026-27 properly with a team that does more than just file your tax β€” we're ready.

πŸ‘‡ Comment "STRATEGY" and we'll send you the link to book a session with the Aero team.

New financial year. New conversation.

Most business owners only hear from their accountant twice a year β€” at tax time and at BAS time.

We think that's backwards.

The most valuable conversations happen at the start of the year, not the end of it. Before decisions are made β€” not after.

This financial year, we're talking to clients about:
βœ… Whether their business structure still fits where they're growing
βœ… What their cash flow actually looks like 6 and 12 months out
βœ… Whether the right lending strategy could speed things up
βœ… What numbers they should actually be tracking month to month

If your accountant relationship has been "send documents, get a return" β€” there's a different way to do this.

πŸ‘‡ Comment "STRATEGY" and we'll send you the link to book a session and map out the year ahead properly.

Most small business owners make the same three tax mistakes every year.

Not because they are careless. Because no one pointed them out before the damage was done.

Mistake 1: Mixing personal and business expenses
When personal and business spending share the same account, records become unreliable and deductions get missed. It is one of the most common and most costly habits in small business.

Mistake 2: Leaving deductions on the table
Vehicle use. Home office. Software subscriptions. Professional development. These are legitimate deductions that disappear when they are not recorded properly throughout the year.

Mistake 3: Filing without a strategy conversation
A return that gets filed without a business performance review is a missed opportunity. Tax time is the moment when every number in your business is visible. Your accountant should be asking questions, not just collecting documents.

At Aero, we catch all three before they cost you.

Some people in a firm are loud about what they do.
Jeremy Wood just makes sure it gets done.

Since joining Aero Group in 2025, he's become the person clients know they
can actually reach β€” the calm, organised presence on the other end of the
phone when the answer matters. Not because he was asked to be. Just
because that's how he operates.

The role of Client Success Associate didn't exist before Jeremy. It does now.
And the clients who work with him probably understand why.
The moment he's most proud of? Being asked by a client for help with
something completely outside his job description β€” not because they didn't
know who else to ask, but because they trusted Jeremy enough to ask him
first. He figured it out.

At Aero Group, Jeremy works across the firm to make sure clients feel heard,
supported, and connected to the right people at every stage. He's the bridge
between what a client needs and the team that can deliver it.
Ask him about his weekends and he'll tell you he's a numbers-free zone β€”
except for the AFL scores, which apparently don't count.

His colleagues call him efficient. He'd call himself driven. His clients would
probably just call him back."I work with clients by understanding what they want to achieve, what I can
achieve, and what we can achieve together β€” and if a desired outcome isn't
possible through me, I'll do everything I can to connect them with the right
person who can."
β€” Jeremy Wood, Client Success Associate

Most people think the person keeping things organised behind the scenes has a fairly quiet job.

Christine Huang has been at Aero Group for four years. She would tell you otherwise. In her own understated way.

β€œASIC. ATO. Payment plans. Paperwork. Christine calls it Tuesday.”

While clients might picture a business administrator handling phones and filing, Christine's role covers far more ground. She's navigating ATO matters, setting up payment plans, managing tax return lodgements, and keeping clients on the right side of their ASIC compliance requirements. All of it, quietly, efficiently, and without any fuss.

In four years she's become the person clients call when something needs sorting β€” not because they've been directed to, but because she's earned it.

Ask her colleagues to describe her in one word and they'll say β€˜indispensable’. Ask Christine and she'll say the same thing. There's a certain quiet confidence in not needing two different answers.

Off the clock, you'll find her on the badminton court (silver medal and all) or four episodes deep into a K-drama. If accounting hadn't worked out, she'd have been a vet nurse β€” which, when you think about it, isn't so different: someone who takes care of things that can't always speak for themselves.

"Always there to help."

Four words. But if you've ever worked with Christine, you know exactly how much that covers.

At Aero Group, Christine works with clients to navigate ASIC requirements, ATO obligations, and the administrative complexity that comes with running a business. She's the steady hand that makes complicated things feel manageable.

"Behind the scenes. Ahead of the deadline."
