Profitable on paper. Tight on cash. It's more common than you'd think. 💰

The P&L says you had a great year. Your bank account isn't so sure.

The profit is real, it's just not sitting in your account as cash. Your liabilities and trade debtors don’t show on your Profit & Loss - this is where your Balance Sheet comes into play

You shouldn't need a tax bill or a payroll run to tell you what's going on with your cash. That's not a great way to run a business and it's not something you should have to figure out alone.

Knowing where your money is and where it's heading, that's the conversation worth having.

Don't assume waiting for the new rollover on 1 July 2027 is your best move.

The general 50% CGT discount ends 1 July 2027, and its replacement isn't law yet. For many business owners, restructuring now, while the current rules and small business concessions still apply, beats waiting. Especially with the 30% minimum tax on discretionary trusts landing 1 July 2028.

It won't suit everyone, and stamp duty applies either way. Worth running the numbers now, not in 2029.

We were proud to be part of the Mackay Career Expo 2026! 🎉

It was such a great opportunity to share our passion for accounting with curious young minds exploring what's out there, bookkeeping, audits, super funds, and everything in between.

Career expos like this are all about discovery, kids getting a genuine look at what different industries involve, and starting to consider where they might land after school or uni. A few even asked about work experience, always a promising sign.

The $3 million question. 💰

If your superannuation balance is above $3 million, the proposed Division 296 changes are something you need to understand now.

This isn't simply a matter of higher balances being taxed more. Division 296 introduces an additional layer of tax that could apply to unrealised gains meaning you may face a tax liability on growth that you haven't received yet.
