🎯 Thriving Kids program — what this means for NDIS providers

This week the Government announced a $2b Thriving Kids program to deliver “foundational supports” outside the NDIS for children with mild–moderate developmental delay or autism. A phased rollout is planned from mid-2026 and current NDIS kids won’t be moved until alternate supports are in place.

If you provide early childhood OT / Speech / Psych, expect new referral pathways (schools & primary care), possible Medicare-linked developmental checks at age 3, and tighter registration settings. Start mapping services and billing for mixed funding (NDIS + state/health).
