Tax Time is Here! πŸ“‰βœ¨ Let’s Maximize Your 2025/26 Tax Refund!

The new financial year is officially here, which means it’s time to lodge your tax return! Navigating the latest ATO rules can be tricky, but our expert team is here to ensure you get the best possible outcome.

Here are 3 quick tax tips for this season to help you maximize your claims:

🏠 Working from Home (WFH): You can claim a fixed rate of 70 cents per hour! Important: The ATO no longer accepts a 4-week estimate. You must have a diary recording your actual hours worked from home for the entire year.
πŸš— Using Your Car for Work: The cents-per-kilometre rate of 88 cents for the 2026 income year (claim up to 5,000 kms without a logbook!).
πŸ’Ό Boost Your Super: The concessional superannuation contribution cap of $30,000. Ask us how you might use 'catch-up' contributions from previous years to drastically reduce your taxable income!

Don't leave your hard-earned money on the table or risk ATO penalties for incorrect claims. Let the professionals handle it for you!

🀝 We make it easy to get your tax done. Choose the appointment type that suits you best: πŸ“ž Over the phone πŸ’» Online video meeting 🚢 Walk-in to our office

July 1st is bringing the biggest structural payroll shake-up we’ve seen in years: the arrival of Payday Super.

The era of quarterly lump sums is over. Moving forward, employee super must be cleared on the exact same day you process their wages.

For business owners and finance teams, this isn't just a tech updateβ€”it's a massive cash flow pivot.

How ready is your setup for weekly or fortnightly super outflows? πŸ‘‡

🟒 100% automated & ready
🟑 Software is good, cash flow is tight
πŸ”΄ Still scrambling / relying on the ATO clearing house
πŸ”΅ Just want to see results

Let’s talk in the comments: What’s your biggest roadblock with the switch? Tech integration or cash flow management?

🚨 June 2026 Accounting Alert: 4 Major Shifts You Need to Know

⏱️ "Payday Super" Begins 1 July: The quarterly lump-sum rush is over. Employers must now pay super on the exact same day as wages. With the ATO Clearing House shutting down, your payroll tech and cash flow modelling must be fully integrated and ready for this weekly/fortnightly outflow.

πŸ“œ Major Tax & Trust Overhauls: Treasury has proposed a 30% minimum floor tax on discretionary trust distributions and plans to replace the 50% CGT discount with an inflation-indexed method. On the upside, the $20,000 Instant Asset Write-Off is now permanent for businesses under $10M turnover.

πŸ“Š NFP Relief: The AASB has officially dropped a simplified Tier 3 reporting framework, significantly cutting down red tape and compliance compliance burdens for smaller not-for-profits.

πŸ€– Tech & ESG Are Mainstream: AI has officially moved from a gimmick to a foundational tool for real-time cash flow advisory. Meanwhile, banks are increasingly tieing commercial loan rates and tender approvals directly to your ESG metrics.

🌞 This July 1st marks a major shift in business cash flow and compliance. Don't wait for the deadlines to hitβ€”ensure your systems and strategies are updated now.

πŸ’¬ If this goes ahead, would you consider restructuring your business? πŸ‘‡

πŸ’ Business owners with family trusts β€” what’s your reaction to the proposed 30% minimum trust tax?

A) Concerned 😬
B) Waiting for more details
C) Already speaking to my accountant
D) Didn’t even know this was announced

The key thing to remember:
πŸ‘‰ It’s still a proposal β€” not law yet.

But for many small businesses and investors, this could become one of the biggest tax changes in years.

Budget 2026: Proposed 30% Minimum Tax on Family Trusts
The 2026 Federal Budget has proposed a major change for discretionary (family) trusts.

From 1 July 2028, trustees of discretionary trusts may be required to pay a minimum 30% tax on trust income β€” even if distributions are made to lower-income beneficiaries.

What’s important to know:
βœ” This is currently a proposal, not law
βœ” Individual beneficiaries would receive tax credits for tax already paid
βœ” Some trusts and income types are excluded
βœ” A proposed restructuring rollover relief period may run from 2027–2030

Most importantly:
🚨 Don’t rush into restructuring based on a Budget announcement alone.

The legislation has not yet been drafted, and the rules may change significantly before becoming law.

Right now, the best approach is:
πŸ“Œ Stay informed
πŸ“Œ Understand how it may affect your structure
πŸ“Œ Wait for final legislation before making major decisions

If you operate through a family trust, now is the time to start the conversation β€” not panic.

Payday Super Starts 1 July 2026 β€” Is Your Business Ready?
One of the biggest payroll changes in years is almost here.

From 1 July 2026, employers must pay superannuation within 7 business days of payday β€” not quarterly.

That means:
πŸ’Έ Weekly payroll = weekly super
πŸ’Έ Fortnightly payroll = fortnightly super
πŸ’Έ Monthly payroll = monthly super

The ATO will monitor payments in real time through Single Touch Payroll, making late super much easier to detect.

Before July, make sure you:
βœ” Confirm your payroll software is Payday Super ready
βœ” Review your cash flow and working capital
βœ” Check employee super fund details are correct
βœ” Ensure payroll and bookkeeping staff understand the new rules

⚠️ Late super penalties under the new system will be harsher than before.
