The ATO is in the process of removing hyperlinks from all outbound unsolicited SMS by Tax Time 2024. Removing hyperlinks is a scams preventative measure. It will help protect the community by making it easier to identify legitimate ATO SMS interactions and provide trust and confidence in the ATO and our tax, super and registry systems.

As EOFY approaches, employers must prepare for new financial year changes. From 01 July 2024, tax cuts will benefit all taxpayers. Superannuation Guarantee rises to 11.5%, luxury car tax thresholds increase, and the $20,000 instant asset write-off extends for small businesses. Significant changes to expand the Paid Parental Leave ('PPL') scheme have been passed by Parliament and are now awaiting Royal Assent

Here's what you need to know:
New Parents will be eligible for more PPL from 1 July 2024. The changes extend the PPL scheme to a full six months! The overall length of the PPL scheme will be gradually increased to 26 weeks by July 2026.
