Jordan Dinning & Adam McCann CFP met with Lauren Pike today to present a cheque for $15,852 to support the important work of the Hutt St Centre.

For nearly 10 years, we have been proud to support Hutt St Centre and the vital role they play in the South Australian community.

Hutt St Centre provides practical, on-the-ground support to people doing it tough. From meals and clean clothing to access to basic services many of us take for granted. Their impact is real, tangible, and deeply important.

We’re pleased to continue standing alongside an organisation that makes such a meaningful difference to so many lives in our community.

Bartons was proud to partner with and sponsor the Australian Orthopaedic Association SA & NT Branch Scientific Papers Day, held at SAHMRI in Adelaide on Friday last week.

The program highlighted the depth and quality of orthopaedic research across South Australia and the Northern Territory and provided a valuable forum for engagement with surgeons and trainees.

Thank you to Richard Clarnette SA/NT Chair, Mel Dobson SA/NT Regional Manager and Tom Gieroba Scientific Secretary, for the invitation and for their leadership in delivering a high‑quality event.

It was a pleasure for Adam McCann CFP and Matt Baczyk from Bartons to present Financial Success for Doctors in 2026/27, focusing on practical considerations around structure, property, debt management, and risk protection relevant to today’s medical professionals.

We value our ongoing partnership with the AOA and the opportunity to contribute beyond the clinical program.

Last night, I was joined by five colleagues from Bartons Medical – our team of accountants and financial advisors – to attend the AMA (SA) Health Debate at Adelaide’s historic Capri Theatre in Goodwood. We were proud to support this event as a sponsor; it also marked the first political debate of South Australia’s 2026 state election campaign.

AMA (SA) President Associate Professor Peter Subramaniam moderated a lively, people-focused discussion between Health Minister Chris Picton and Shadow Health Minister Heidi Girolamo. They went head-to-head on the issues that matter to South Australians: from ambulance ramping and delayed essential surgeries to mental health services, aged care pressures, access to GP-led care, and the state of regional healthcare.

The takeaway was clear: we need more interprofessional, team-based care to deliver safer, more accessible services while supporting our stretched healthcare workforce. At Bartons, we are focused on this issue. It’s why we recently launched a new Interprofessional Practice podcast series to delve deeper into these challenges and solutions.

Episode 1, “The Tipping Point,” features Dr. Gerry O’Callaghan and explores how policy, regulation, and Medicare reforms are beginning to align in support of team-based care, particularly in primary healthcare. Our conversation highlights that sustainable reform isn’t just a clinical issue – it requires coordinated financial, regulatory, and operational solutions across disciplines.

It’s incredibly encouraging to see these challenges being debated openly and constructively. As a Managing Director working closely with healthcare professionals, I’m optimistic that by breaking down silos and embracing team-based interprofessional care, we can build a safer, more accessible health system for everyone.

If you’re interested in continuing this important conversation, I invite you to listen to “The Tipping Point” on the Bartons website, Spotify, or Apple Podcasts.

Thank you to A/Prof Peter Subramaniam and Dr. Gerry O’Callaghan for your insights and leadership – it’s inspiring to collaborate with such dedicated healthcare leaders.

We were honoured to present at the Slipstream Melbourne Summit on the topic of “Ideal Clients”.

At Bartons, we believe that clarity and connection are at the heart of great advice. During our session, we explored what makes an ideal client, why specialisation matters, and how understanding your unique ability as an advisor can transform your impact.

Key takeaways:

• The power of knowing your ideal client: For us, it’s medical specialists.

• Why expertise and trust are non-negotiable.

• The importance of focusing on what you do best, and saying “no” to distractions.

• How specialisation breeds excellence: “You can do anything, but not everything".

Thank you to Slipstream Group for bringing together such a dynamic group of professionals. If you’re interested - especially if you’re a medical professional - let’s connect!
