Since 1 July 2026, employers have been required to pay super to an employee's nominated fund on every payday, rather than just quarterly. Payments need to reach the fund within 7 business days of payday (longer timeframes can apply for new employees), and qualifying earnings and super liability now need to be reported through Single Touch Payroll.
If super isn't received in full and on time, the super guarantee charge applies. A month into this change, now is a good time to check your payroll cycle is keeping pace, particularly if you're still adjusting processes from quarterly to payday reporting.
