We proudly acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which we live and work.
In this 50th year of NAIDOC Week, we reflect on the origins of NAIDOC which go back to the 1938 Day of Mourning. While many Australians celebrated the 150th anniversary of the landing of the First Fleet, a group of Aboriginal men and women gathered at Australia Hall in Sydney. They came together to protest the injustice, violence, racial discrimination, and denial of basic human rights experienced by Aboriginal people across the country.
Their courage laid the foundation for a movement that continues to this day. Let’s honour that legacy and continue to listen, learn, and grow together.
