Lodging your BAS late? It could be costing you more than you think!
Many business owners don’t realise the ATO can charge you if your BAS is late:
🔴Late Lodgement Penalty: Charged when you submit late, even if you don’t owe anything!
🔴General Interest Charge: Charged when you pay late, and it accrues daily until fully paid. This is no longer tax deductible.
⚠️ TIP: Always lodge on time, even if you can’t pay straight away. You might avoid hundreds in penalties and can negotiate a payment plan for the rest.
