📢 NDIS update: Unscheduled plan reassessments
The NDIA has announced changes to how participants can request a plan reassessment outside their usual review period.
Participants can request an unscheduled reassessment when there has been a significant and ongoing change to their circumstances or disability-related support needs, and their current plan no longer meets those needs.
Under the updated process:
🌿 The participant, plan nominee or child representative must submit the request
🌿 A provider cannot submit the request on the participant’s behalf
🌿 Recent supporting evidence will be required—usually dated within four months of the request and after the current plan was approved
🌿 The NDIA may decide to reassess the whole plan, vary part of the existing plan, or decline the request if the evidence does not demonstrate a significant and ongoing change
Simply using all available funding before the end of a plan or funding period is not, on its own, grounds for an unscheduled reassessment.
If your circumstances have changed, speak with your Support Coordinator or my NDIS contact about the evidence you may need and the next steps.
More information is available on the official NDIS website.
