📢 Attention Australian Employers and Employees!

The Fair Work Commission has announced a 3.5% increase to the National Minimum Wage and minimum award wages. The increase applies from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2025.

The bill to change the annual indexation for study and training loans passed parliament.

Once the change is law, indexation will be based on either the Consumer Price Index (CPI) or Wage Price Index (WPI) – whichever is lower.

This change is backdated, taking effect from 1 June 2023.

The new indexation rates for the two previous years are:
> 3.2% for 1 June 2023 - reduced from 7.1%
> 4% for 1 June 2024 - reduced from 4.7%.

A reminder that the Superannuation Guarantee quarterly payment deadline for the July to September 2024 period is due Monday 28th October 2024.

We suggest you make payment by Monday 21st October 2024, which should allow for contributions to reach super fund providers no later than the payment deadline of 28th October.
