SRO No. 51-Act/IncomeTax-28/2024 (Dated:13 March 2024): National Board of Revenue (NBR), Bangladesh has published an exciting SRO for Tax Exemption on Research Grants. As per SRO any amount received from any institution outside Bangladesh for the purpose of conducting research by any University, College or Research Institute shall be exempted from the calculation of its total income.

SRO NO. 50-Act/Income Tax-27/2024 (Dated: 13 March 2024): The National Board of Revenue (NBR), Bangladesh by virtue of sub- section (1) of section 76 of the Income- tax Act, 2023 (Act No. 12 of 2023), is liable under section 123 of the said Act out of money received by any exporter only by way of export of leather or leather products. Reduced rate of tax deduction at source to 0.5% (Zero decimal five percent) of gross export earnings.

Note: This notification shall come into effect immediately and shall remain in force till June 30, 2025.
