Hey everyone! We're excited to be part of The Flow Fest — Summer Flow 2026, happening 21–22 August at Gulshan Shooting Club, Dhaka.

Being an entrepreneur can be a stressful journey. Sometimes, you just need to shut the laptop, step away from the grind, and recharge with your team before jumping into the next big leap, maybe even the next fundraising round.

So we're taking a little time to move, breathe, connect and recharge.

Two days of movement, mindfulness, sound healing, live music, wellness check-ups, and a community built around genuine connection — the sunrise 7.5km Run, the Breakfast Club Rave, yoga, HIIT, salsa, Speed Friending, open mics, and more.

In Lalmonirhat, a mobile clinic reaches families who once travelled hours for basic care. In Khulna, safe water moves through the hands of local sellers rather than through another aid delivery. Behind each is an entrepreneur, and beside each entrepreneur is an established company ready to supply the product, lend its brand, and take the goods to market.

The pieces are there. What is often missing is the line between them.

CapeC. is pleased to partner with Max Foundation Bangladesh on its "Entrepreneur Development assignment, spanning business model development, co-financing design, and stakeholder engagement".

Under this engagement, CapeC. will work with twenty entrepreneurs across two cohorts, the SMCC cohort in Lalmonirhat and the Water Entrepreneurship cohort in Khulna. Each entrepreneur will build their business alongside an anchor company that brings product, standards, and a route to market. Together, entrepreneurs and their anchor companies will build the business models, co-financing arrangements, implementation plans, and market-facing materials each enterprise will run on.

Most of these are micro-enterprises, the kind that stay outside financial inclusion, not for lack of effort but because the line from a working business to a lender or investor has never been drawn. Our work is to draw it. A business model the operator can actually run, built around a real commercial relationship with the anchor company. A co-financing arrangement they can afford. The materials that help them sell. Done this way, an enterprise stops being a one-off intervention and starts being a business that can grow, sustain, scale, and reach the finance it needs.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to:
🧭 designing with entrepreneurs and their anchor companies rather than for them
📊 co-financing structured around what entrepreneurs can realistically contribute
🌍 durable health and safe water access through locally run, commercially viable enterprises

That is the whole of it. Connecting the dots, and cultivating the growth that follows.

Green finance cannot scale without a credible way to identify, assess, and improve green enterprises.

Over the past two years, CapeC., in partnership with Oxfam in Bangladesh, has worked to address this challenge through the development of the Green Business Assessment Toolkit (GBAT).

This journey reached an important milestone with the National Validation Workshop, where policymakers, financial institutions, private sector leaders, academia, and development partners came together to validate the methodology, review field evidence, and shape the future direction of the framework.

GBAT is not intended to be another checklist.

It is designed as a practical decision-support framework that helps environmentally responsible cottage, micro, small, and medium enterprises demonstrate their green practices while creating pathways toward market access, finance readiness, and long-term competitiveness.

Its development has been informed by stakeholder consultations, extensive research, methodology design, field piloting across five locations, and continuous refinement based on evidence and practitioner feedback.

For CapeC., this milestone represents more than the completion of a project. It reflects our belief that complex development challenges require solutions that combine systems thinking, rigorous research, digital innovation, and cross-sector collaboration.

We are grateful to Oxfam in Bangladesh and the many institutions and experts whose insights strengthened this work.

As Bangladesh accelerates its green transition, an important question remains:

How can assessment frameworks evolve beyond measuring sustainability to actually unlocking finance, market access, and competitiveness for enterprises?

We welcome perspectives from financial institutions, development partners, policymakers, corporates, and ecosystem builders working at this intersection.

CapeC. is pleased to partner with YY Ventures on the "Entrepreneurship Ecosystem and Market Mapping assignment" under the Orange Corners Bangladesh programme, an initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, as it enters its 2026-2028 phase.

Under this engagement, CapeC. will map startups, innovative SMEs, and ecosystem support actors across four priority sectors: Agriculture, Water, Circular Economy with a focus on textiles, and Port and Maritime. The assignment translates distinct sector realities into decision-grade evidence for programme design, partner engagement, and the entry points where Bangladeshi founders are building.

Each of these sectors sits at a different point on the ecosystem maturity curve, which is why the mapping applies tailored approaches rather than a uniform template.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to:

🧭 sector-calibrated intelligence grounded in how startups and SMEs operate on the ground
📊 evidence-led identification of growth barriers, enablers, and investment pathways for early-stage and growing enterprises
🌍 concentrating programme resources where structural gaps and sector opportunities intersect for founders

Through this assignment, CapeC. continues its work alongside startups, SMEs, and ecosystem institutions, strengthening the diagnostics and decision systems that connect enterprises to appropriate finance, partners, and programme support.

Grateful to the YY Ventures team for the opportunity to contribute to this phase of the programme.

At the second convening of the Bangladesh Impact Investor Network (BIIN) last week at Six Seasons, hosted by SNV in Asia, Innovation Against Poverty, and the Dutch Fund for Climate and Development (DFCD).

A young network, and an important one. Impact investment, with its longer horizons and tolerance for mixed returns, is often the right fit for SMEs and Startups that are commercially viable but not yet bankable. Bangladesh’s SME finance gap will not close without a deeper domestic base of this investor class, and BIIN is where that base is beginning to take shape.

In practice, enterprise development, access to appropriate finance, investment, and policy rarely move on separate tracks. Readiness on one side shapes what capital can do on the other, while policy sets the terms for both. CapeC. is built to work across that system rather than within any single lane.

Good to share the room with impact investors, commercial banks, venture funds, and partners, including the Embassy of the Netherlands in Bangladesh, EuroCham Bangladesh, and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Grateful to the conveners and glad to be part of this network as it grows.

CapeC. is awarded the Youth Equality Award 2026 by Plan International Bangladesh for its inclusive, entrepreneurial capacity-development initiative, "Voice to Venture Bridge | V2V Bridge."

V2V Bridge puts adolescent girls and boys through structured BoP entrepreneurship training covering opportunity identification, inclusive business thinking, basic financial literacy, and digital financial tools. They are then deployed as field interviewers documenting the enterprise journeys of ten women entrepreneurs who resisted early marriage pressure and built enterprises in male-dominated markets at the base of the pyramid.

The adolescent storytellers do not exit as participants. They exit as operators of an early-stage media enterprise with a content asset, an audience development strategy, and the foundational skills to build something investable around it.

That is the double enterprise play. The women entrepreneurs who resisted early marriage and built in spaces not designed for them see their stories turned into short podcasts and reels, content assets the adolescents produce and own as part of building their investment narrative. The adolescent storytellers, in turn, gain the enterprise fundamentals to monetize and scale the media platform they built.

Congratulations to Md. Hazrat Ali, Portfolio Associate, Social Inclusion at CapeC. for leading this initiative. And congratulations to the five organizations awarded alongside us.

Thank you, Plan International Bangladesh.

At the beginning of this year, CapeC. was a 3-person team. During tonight’s team iftar, we paused and realized the table had grown to 11 people. The evening was less about work and more about spending time together, sharing stories, and enjoying a break from the usual pace of projects and deadlines.

What made the evening meaningful was the shared energy in the room. Everyone on the team brings a different perspective, but we are connected by a common belief in strengthening enterprises and improving how entrepreneurs, SMEs, & Startups access finance and achieve sustainable growth.

Moments like this remind us that teams grow not only through projects but through connection, trust, and the people building the journey together.

CapeC. is pleased to partner with Oxfam in Bangladesh on a new consultancy focused on strengthening climate finance access and disbursement systems.

Under this engagement, CapeC. will design and develop a Climate Finance Availing and Disbursement Toolkit to support more transparent, equitable, and evidence-led climate finance decision-making. The work focuses on translating climate vulnerability and natural resource risk data into practical decision-support tools for planners, donors, and implementing partners operating in climate-vulnerable contexts.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to:

🌱 advancing climate justice through better-targeted finance
📊 converting complex data into usable tools for prioritisation and allocation
🌍 strengthening transparency and accountability in climate finance systems

Through this assignment, CapeC. continues its work supporting enterprises and institutions by strengthening diagnostics and decision systems that improve access to appropriate climate finance and ensure resources are directed where risk, need, and opportunity intersect.
