Breaking news from the IRS: Treasury Secretary Bessent has instructed the IRS to begin giving “happiness audits” instead of tax audits.

“Nobody really ever lies on their tax returns, so I felt like this was a more appropriate use of government resources.” said Secretary Bessent.

Effective today, April 1, the IRS will be sending out greeting cards inviting taxpayers to sign up for a “happiness audit”.

Depending on the auditors finding; taxpayers may be entitled to a poodle-hybrid breed of dog, back rubs, or an all-expense paid trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy.
