Well, hello everyone! Heres another “awesome” public service announcement for you ….. 😡

I just learned another fabulous fun fact about Canada revenue, and our imperial leaders today that has just sent me off the deep end with anger and rage…

If you owe taxes when you do your income tax, and they inform you that you have to make installments…

Although there is absolutely no law saying that you have to pay installments to them to pre-pay your next year’s taxes, keep in mind that they will be charging interest on the installments that you do not pay…

So for example, if they tell you, you need to pay $3000 in installments and you do not pre-pay that $3000, they will charge you interest on that $3000 and when you do your following years taxes, that arrears interest will be added to your next balance owing!!

Isn’t that just fabulous….

This year’s tax season is rapidly coming to a close!

I know there’s a lot of people out there that have already had their taxes done for the 2024 tax year, however, if you have thought that maybe you would like to change who does your taxes next year, here is a little heads up for you.

CRA is going to make the following change this coming July 2025… so if you think you might like to have someone new do your taxes next year, you might want to go pay a visit to them and get them authorized to work for you before July, because getting them authorized to work for you is going to get a whole lot harder.

Starting July 2025, Every single individual is now going to be required to have access to a computer and access to their Canada Revenue online account.

CRA is taking away the ability for tax professionals like myself to submit an authorization to do your taxes for you.
You are going to be forced to go into your account and authorize people on your own, or you are going to have to supply the information for your tax professional to answer all the ridiculous security questions that you would be asked if you were to phone in to CRA.

It is absolutely mind-boggling to me how CRA assumes that everyone wants, can afford, or knows how to use a computer, But they are going to make it so you all are not going to have an option.

You are going to be forced to get your CRA mail online, sign in online, authorize your tax professional online, etc. 
I believe that they are also trying to force everyone to sign up for direct deposit…
