Hello,
The provincial Health Care Connect program is seeking your most up-to-date information to connect you to primary care faster. It’s important that your OHIP card and contact information remains up-to-date so that a referral can quickly be made as soon as a primary care clinician has been identified to connect with you. There are new online tools now available to make it easier for you to update your information at any time.
Please see options for next steps below and choose the one that applies to you:
Option 1 – If your contact information has changed and you still need primary care:
Please visit https://ontario.ca/HealthCareConnect to update your details or you can reply directly to this email. In your reply, please include:
• Your full name and phone number
• Any updates to your contact information (e.g., address or email change)
Option 2 – If you no longer need a primary care clinician or want to withdraw your registration:
Please visit https://ontario.ca/HealthCareConnect or reply directly to this email to let us know you no longer need care.
If you still need primary care and there are no changes to your personal information, no action is required. Your Health Care Connect registration status remains active, and a Care Connector is working to connect you with primary care.
While you wait
While we work to connect you to primary care, you can visit https://health811.ontario.ca or call 811 to connect with a registered nurse, 24/7, for free, secure, and confidential health advice.
Questions or need help?
If you have questions or need assistance updating your information, please contact Health Care Connect at 1-888-579-6707 or [email protected]
A Care Connector is available:
• Monday to Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Outside of these hours, voicemails are accepted and will be processed the next business day.
Sincerely,
Health Care Connect

Bonjour,
Cordialement,
Accès Soins

Beware of the "Milk Settlement". Initially, it appears to be legitimate and similar to the Bread Settlement. But there is no Milk Settlement. Scammers are after your personal information for both identity and financial theft.

CTV News Canada has an article up called "A new, alarming scam trend is running rampant in Canada" that is worth reading.

I can't link here because, well, you know, Meta's ban on Canadian news sharing.

Beware of the "Milk Settlement" Scam.

Initially, it appears to be legitimate and similar to the legitimate Bread Settlement except that there is no "Milk Settlement".

CTV News Canada has an article titled "A new alarming scam trend is running rampant in Canada" that provides more information. I've included a link to it but Meta's probably going to block it.

Canadians are being warned about a scam involving text messages that claim recipients are eligible for a so-called “milk settlement,” even though no such class action exists.

Here's some information you should know -

New Federal Minimum Wage Increase Effective April 1, 2026
The Government of Canada has officially confirmed that the federal minimum wage will rise to $18.15 per hour starting April 1, 2026.

Employment and Social Development Canada made the official announcement on March 24, 2026.

This 40-cent increase from the current rate of $17.75 represents a 2.3% jump and marks a cumulative 21% increase since the standalone federal minimum wage was introduced in 2021.

New NSF Fee Caps Now in Effect
While not an April change, it is essential to note that new federal regulations capping non-sufficient funds (NSF) fees at $10 came into force on March 12, 2026.

This significant change affects all federally regulated banks and credit unions, including Canada’s Big Six banks.

Previously, Canada’s major banks charged between $45 and $48 per NSF transaction, meaning if your account was even $1 short when a payment tried to clear, you could face a $48 penalty.

Under the new regulations, consumers cannot be charged more than $10 in NSF fees when they do not have enough money in their personal deposit account to cover a payment.

As we head into Tax Season 2026, people are needing access to their CRA information. 2025 saw CRA pushing everyone to sign up for an online CRA MyAccount. They've discontinued mailing Notices of Assessment, Instalment Reminders, etc., to anyone who has a MyAccount, putting the onus on the taxpayer to get this information from their CRA MyAccount.

To make things more complicated, CRA shutdown access to all existing MyAccounts 3 to 5 years ago when their servers "were compromised", forcing account holders to regain access. Many of you found out just how difficult and frustrating that can be.

CRA is now making this much easier.

If you are locked out of your CRA account or forgot your sign-in information, you can now regain access online – no need to call the CRA. Use the CRA’s new self-service option to create new sign-in credentials and quickly get back into your account.

To regain access:
1. Go to Sign in to your CRA account using this link
https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/e-services/cra-login-services.html
2. Under "Help," select "Your account is locked"
3. Follow the on-screen steps

For those of you who don't/won't/can't use the online account, you can still access your information by calling CRA Individual Inquiries @ 1-800-959-8281.

Outside tax season, the phones are manned Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST. Wait times in non-tax season are generally about 30 minutes. As tax season opens, February 23rd this year, through to early May, the hours get extended to Monday to Saturday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST and wait times increase to as much as 2 hours. Be patient. There were 29,965,100 tax filers in 2023. The wait times are because we, THANKFULLY, don't have that many government employees.

You'll need to have the following information available to clear the security questions -

1. Your full name as CRA knows you - use a piece of correspondence from them such as a notice of (re)assessment or your most recent tax return,
2. your Social Insurance Number,
3. your date of birth,
4. your most recent tax return or notice of (re)assessment.

And if you're one of my clients, you can call me (705-744-4554) to get what you need for you through the Online Representation you granted me when you became a client.

Cheers!
Colleen Kerr
