If you have business income, your filing deadline is in June 15 — but any taxes owing are still due by April 30.

There’s no late filing penalty if you file by June, but interest will start accumulating on any balance after April 30.

🚛 Truckers vs T2200 Meals – Don’t Mix These Up!

This is one of the MOST common (and costly) mistakes we see 👇

✔️ Long-haul truck drivers
• Can claim up to 80% of meals
• Can use simplified method
• Must meet CRA “long-haul” criteria (overnight trips)

✔️ T2200 employees (12+ hour days)
• Can claim 50% of meals
• Must be required to travel for work
• Employer must sign a T2200
• Must keep meal receipts, unable to use simplified method

❌ You CANNOT claim both the same way

💡 Claiming the wrong one = delays, reviews, or reassessments

After nearly 2 YEARS of back-and-forth with CRA, this file is finally resolved.

Our client was originally told they owed over $26,000.
They received repeated calls with threats of bank account freezes and wage garnishments.

We submitted everything required — not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES through reviews.
Each time, requests were nitpicked… and every resubmission meant another 6+ month wait.

👉 Then something changed.

The client reached out to their MP.

Within 2 weeks:
✔️ File reviewed properly
✔️ Amounts reinstated
✔️ Balance cleared
✔️ Refund issued: $7,674.33
