Let's say you have two clients.

Client A pays you $2,000 within 3 days.

Client B also pays you $2,000, but takes 60 days to pay.

On paper, they're bringing in the same amount of money. But from a cash flow perspective? Very different story.

Your bills don't stop coming in just because you're waiting to get paid!

There's actually a way to measure this. It's called your average collection period (DSO), and it tells you how long it typically takes your business to collect payment from customers.

Why should you care?

Because you could be bringing in great revenue, showing a healthy profit, and still struggling to cover your day-to-day expenses.

Here's something to try: Take a look at your outstanding invoices and see which clients consistently take the longest to pay. You might be surprised by what you find.

And if you notice a pattern? It might be time to revisit your payment terms, request deposits on larger projects, or make it easier for clients to pay.

Sometimes, improving your cash flow has less to do with making more sales and more to do with collecting the money you've already earned.

Just a little appreciation post for all the entrepreneurs out there.

There’s something pretty incredible about building something of your own.

It takes ideas, courage, a whole lot of learning as you go… and probably more perseverance than anyone realizes.

Because not every idea works. Not every opportunity turns into a yes. There are setbacks, changes of direction, and days where you have to remind yourself why you started in the first place.

But then there are the wins. The first client. The returning client. The referral you weren’t expecting. Seeing an idea you had actually turn into something real.

And through all of it, you just keep building.

So here’s a little appreciation for everyone out there taking the chance, putting in the work, hearing the occasional “no” and continuing anyway.

Running a business isn’t always easy, but creating something that’s yours is pretty damn cool. 🙌
