Are you behind on your taxes? Do you have past years of income taxes to file? CRA has given a deadline of October 2026 for people to get caught up on your taxes so you can claim the Canada Carbon Rebate from past years.

You could receive the following Carbon Credit Rebates for past years:

Free Tax Clinics for 2026, Tax Year 2025

WAS YOUR INCOME less than $40.000 or your FAMILY INCOME less than $55.000 FOR 2025? Are you on social assistance? Need a hand with your income taxes?

Make sure to bring all of your information slips including T4s, T5s, T5007, T2202 and rental information. Bring your 2024 Notice of Assessment if possible.

Our tax clinics start Monday March 9th. The following are our tax clinic times and locations.

Volunteers will do your taxes FREE at: All Times are 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 with lunch break unless otherwise stated. First Come First Served.

🧡 Welcome to the Ptbo Happy Wanderers Volunteer Tax Clinics!
We’re a volunteer-run program offering free income tax preparation through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program for low-income individuals and families in the Peterborough area including those on social assistance.

Our trained volunteers are here to help you file your taxes accurately, confidentially, and at no cost. Whether you're a senior, student, newcomer, on social assistance or working family, we’re committed to making tax season less stressful and more accessible.

We offer many free tax clinics in Peterborough and area throughout the tax season, March and April. If your income is less than $40K as an individual or $55K as a family then we will prepare and submit your taxes. Our tax clinics are first come first served. Note, we do not prepare tax returns for businesses and if your tax return is more complex we may not be able to help you.

✅ Who Can Use Our Free Tax Clinic?
The Ptbo Happy Wanderers Free Tax Clinics serves low-income individuals and families including anyone on social assistance in the Peterborough area. To qualify, you must meet both of the following:

💰 Modest Income
Suggested total family income:
• 1 person: $40,000 or less
• Family: $55,000 or less

📄 Simple Tax Situation
We can help if your income comes from:
• Employment
• Pension
• RRSPs
• Interest
• Government benefits (CPP, OAS, EI, disability, etc.)
We cannot complete returns for:
• Self-employed individuals
• Rental income
• Capital gains
• Bankruptcy
• Deceased persons

We always do our best to help you as much as we can. Note, we can also file previous years returns if required.
