ANNUAL FUEL PRICE UPDATE
Effective October 1, 2026, the gasoline price will be $2.78/L
Why are prices higher this year?
The global fuel markets continue to face challenges related to fuel supply, transportation and changing market conditions. These factors are contributing to higher fuel costs worldwide and are also impacting the cost of supplying to Nunavik. Moreover, the cost of transportation is also impacted and have significantly increased within the last 6 months adding to the increase.
In an effort to lower this impact on the consumers, take note that the excise tax suspension has been extended until the beginning of 2027.
KRG Gas Subsidy
In an effort to offset this important increase for Nunavimmiut, the KRG gas subsidy as of October 1st 2026 will be increase from $0,78 to $1,00/per liter. This subsidy amount applies to beneficiaries only and to gasoline only.

MISE À JOUR ANNUELLE DU PRIX DU CARBURANT
À compter du 1er octobre 2026, le prix de l’essence sera de 2,78 $/L.
Pourquoi les prix sont-ils plus élevés cette année?
Les marchés mondiaux du carburant continuent de faire face à des défis liés à l’approvisionnement en carburant, au transport et à l’évolution des conditions du marché. Ces facteurs contribuent à l’augmentation des coûts du carburant à l’échelle mondiale et ont également une incidence sur les coûts d’approvisionnement au Nunavik. De plus, les coûts de transport ont également été touchés et ont considérablement augmenté au cours des six derniers mois, contribuant ainsi à cette hausse.
Afin de réduire l’impact de cette hausse sur les consommateurs, veuillez noter que la suspension de la taxe d’accise a été prolongée jusqu’au début de 2027.
Subvention de la ARK pour l’essence
Afin de compenser cette importante hausse pour les Nunavimmiut, la subvention de la ARK pour l’essence passera de 0,78 $ à 1,00 $ par litre à compter du 1er octobre 2026. Cette subvention s’applique uniquement aux bénéficiaires et à l’essence.
