We actually get this question more than you'd think, so here's how we *do* help with your taxes (without actually filing your return):

When it comes to filing your tax return, it all starts with clean bookkeeping! 📚

Your tax accountant needs to know exactly how much you spent on each type of expense to put the correct number in the right place on your tax return.

They also need to know what your income *truly* is. If the income shown on your financials is underreported, you risk getting hit with penalties + interest. 🫣

And if you're reporting too much income, you're going to pay too much in taxes!

So no, we're not filing your return, but our work as your bookkeeper is a key part of your tax season! 💸

Breaking up with your bookkeeper can feel really awkward, but it might be time if you're feeling any of these:

💔 Unsure if you can ask questions or get additional support each month

💔 Uncomfortable with the level of service or value you feel you're getting for the price

💔 A lack of the deliverables that were promised (like having all of your accounts reconciled, monthly financial reports, etc.)

Not finding the right bookkeeping fit on the first try is perfectly normal, so don't be scared to leave if you're not happy.

- Details on income and payments received

- Receipts for business expenses

- Notes on refunds, transfers, or large purchases

- Any changes to subscriptions or recurring expenses
