A question I get asked is:
“What’s the difference between a bookkeeper and an accountant?”
The simple answer is: both are important, but they usually support different parts of your business finances.
A bookkeeper helps keep your day-to-day records organized. That may include recording income and expenses, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, tracking invoices and receipts, and helping keep things current month to month.
An accountant typically uses those organized books for year-end work, tax filings, financial statements, tax guidance, and bigger-picture business advice.
The two work best together.
Clean books make tax time easier, give your accountant better information to work with, and help you understand what is happening in your business throughout the year.
And for me, bookkeeping is not just about entering numbers.
I also care about the process behind the books: how receipts are saved, how invoices are tracked, how software is set up, and how information is organized so the books are easier to maintain going forward.
Good bookkeeping should help your business feel clearer, calmer, and less scrambled.
If your books are behind, confusing, or not quite where you want them to be, I can help you get them organized.
