One thing I’ve learned over the last few years is that financial independence is about so much more than money.

Sometimes it’s peace.
Sometimes it’s confidence.

Sometimes it’s finally being able to make decisions without fear or shame attached to them.

There was a time in my life where I constantly questioned myself financially.

Now I help other women understand their money, build confidence around it, and stop feeling so overwhelmed by it all.

And honestly? I’m still learning too. Aren’t we all?

That’s the part people don’t talk about enough. Growth doesn’t happen all at once. It happens one decision, one conversation, and one brave step at a time.

If you’re in a rebuilding season financially right now, keep going.

You got this, just one foot in front of the other.

Spring always has this way of making us want to reset everything in our lives… our routines, our homes, our habits.

But one thing I don’t think we talk about enough is resetting our money.

And it doesn’t have to be overwhelming or complicated.

Just a few small check-ins can make a huge difference:

1) Look at your subscriptions or any automatic payments and what’s actually coming off each of your cards each month
(I think we all forget about things we signed up for… I know I have)

2) Get clear on what’s coming in and what’s going out
I have a FREE expense tracker in my bio under resources if you want something simple to start with.

3) Instead of just saying “I want to be better with money this summer,” get specific about what that actually looks like for you

Like how much you want to spend socially, or what kind of summer you want financially - intentional, flexible, or more structured

Because yes - summer is more expensive. That’s just the reality.

But it’s not something to shame yourself for. Or to think you’re doing it wrong.

It’s something to plan for, so you can actually enjoy it without the stress in the back of your mind.

Today I got the keys to my home.
The one I’ve lived in for 12 years.
The one my two kids grew up in.

This winter was the darkest of my life. It legit scared me.

Nearly two years of limbo. Of survival mode.
Of making every decision through one lens - what is best for my kids - while quietly falling apart on the inside.

The mortgage process triggered every money block I have. I’m self-employed, and I was treated differently because of it. Every wall I hit didn’t just feel like an obstacle. It felt like a question aimed directly at my worth.
Am I enough for this? Do I deserve this? Can I actually do this alone?

My ex and I weren’t fighting. We’ve intentionally kept things as civil as possible. And it was still this hard.

If you’re navigating this while also in conflict, while also fighting for your kids - I see you. And I genuinely can’t imagine how hard it is.

But today it’s done. It’s mine. And my kids still get to wake up in their home.

If you’re in a hard season right now - if things feel heavy and unresolved and like they will never ever be settled - let me assure you that they do. This limbo that you’re in ends.

And what’s on the other side is 100% yours.

Just keep going.

No one really prepares you for this part…

The quiet.
The space.

The time without your kids.

In this moment, Lorraine shares how hard it was after her first separation not knowing what to do with herself when her kids weren’t with her.

And then… something shifted.

Instead of sitting in that space, she started using it.
Doing the things she didn’t get to do before.

Reconnecting with herself.

And coming back to her kids as a more whole version of herself.

Everyone focuses on RRSP season.

Very few people focus on what actually builds wealth the rest of the year.

Here’s what matters more than a last-minute contribution:

✔️ Consistent monthly investing (even small amounts, dollar cost averaging is a super power)
✔️ Having a plan for your TFSA vs RRSP
✔️ Building an emergency / FU fund so you’re not constantly starting over
✔️ Knowing your numbers (not guessing every month)

RRSPs are a tool. Not a strategy.

If you contributed, amazing.

If you didn’t, amazing, you’re not behind.

March is actually the perfect time to reset and create a simple, sustainable plan for your money.

RRSP season is coming to a close… ⏳

If you’ve been meaning to “get to it” — this is your nudge.

The deadline to contribute for the 2025 tax year is March 2, 2026.

And no, it’s not just about throwing money into an RRSP last minute.

It’s about:
• lowering your tax bill (if it makes sense for you)
• building long-term wealth
• actually having a plan for your money

And here’s the truth - RRSPs while powerful, but they’re not one-size-fits-all.

For some of you, this is a yes, do it now.

For others, a TFSA or even just getting organized is the better first step.

You don’t need to panic.

But you also don’t want to ignore it.
