Keep your tax records, like your notice of assessment, for at least 6 years.
Tax records may be useful for:
✅ citizenship or sponsorship applications
✅ applying for a mortgage or loan
You should also keep cancelled cheques, bank statements, and any other proof for deductions or credits you claimed: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/long-should-you-keep-your-income-tax-records.html
