It's important to note that if you have a CRA account online, your mail may be changing from physical to online in your My Account and you may stop getting paper mail.

For this reason it's important that your email address on file on your CRA account is accurate. You should monitor that email as CRA will notify you for any new mail through that email.

It is essential to note that if you are self employed or incorporated you should be paying tax in installments to the CRA, otherwise penalties and interest will apply.

The logic behind this is that just like employees get tax deducted from every pay and the employer remits to the CRA on their behalf, self employed and corporations also need to remit taxes throughout the year, not just at year end.

You need to make installments if your net tax owing is more than 3000 (1800 for Quebec) for 2025 and either 2024 or 2023.

Installments are due in March, June, September and December.

This is a important web page to know when your payroll remittances are due to the CRA. As an employer you are required to withhold tax, CPP, and EI and then remit these amounts to the CRA.

The penalties for late remittances are quite hefty especially when the amounts due are larger.

So make sure you submit your remittances on time or reach out to someone for help!

Your remitter type sets your remitting frequency and affects your due dates. Generally, it is based on your average monthly withholding amount (AMWA)  from 2 calendar years ago. The due dates apply to both:
