I will soon be moving to the Paris area from Rennes as there is a great school for my son and my job opportunities for my wife than in Rennes.

One area that surprised me was how difficult it has been to have my rental dossier accepted in the Paris suburbs versus Rennes.

I recently saw a query about which adaptor to buy for moving from the United States to France. I have had a lot of unreliable plug adaptors but the ones I found work best are:

Hi All,

I had another Financial Coaching and Moving to France call this week where the client mentioned they were concerned booking my services given my low rate of 100€ a hour, yet they said they were blown away by my knowledge on the call. They mentioned they had a call with a much less qualified service and paid 300€ for the call which made them hesitant to book time with me.

I have now heard this nearly a dozen times, so I have decided to increase my rate from 100€ an hour to 150€ an hour.

For existing clients, the new rate will apply from January 1st 2027. For new clients, the new rate starts on July 12th.

So this morning I woke up to a sketch from a comedy scene in Rennes, France,

I looked out my window and my car which was parked across the street was gone and there was a sign stating no parking that was installed overnight for an event.

I called the street services department who suggested I call the police. The police suggested I call the impound lot as my car must have been towed.

I called the impound lot and they stated that the city forgot to put the no parking sign and that my car was moved to a different street in the city and I could find it there.

There was no fine as I was legally parked and there was no restriction when I parked yesterday afternoon.

I am a dual-citizen, but even this was a new one for me... the city can move your car even if you were legally parked if they decide to put up a no-parking sign overnight.

I am just glad I didn't get a 300€ fine for a tow, but thought I would share that even if legally parked, the city can "move" your car to somewhere else in the city if they change the rules at the last minute.

An item I have noticed is that most of my clients purchase their one-way tickets to France versus redeeming their miles.
