šŸŸ£ Office extension update šŸŸ£

Work has been progressing really well.

A lot of timber framing has been done, most of the windows are in, the roof has been sheeted, and the solar panels are fitted.

Next up is for the block walls to be built, rubber roof & skylights to be installed on the link between the two buildings, and underfloor heating to be laid.

In the meantime, we have a temporary cabin to give us much needed extra desk space!

Itā€™s exciting to see our plans take shape!

Hairst time šŸšœšŸŒ¾

Some of our team recently visited a local farm to see their very professional setup in action at this busy time of year.

As well as seeing the combine working & the barley being cairted off, they got to see the grain drier in operation and learn about the technology involved.

Seeing the machinery and processes first hand helps our team better understand the transactions they see every day while working on our clients VAT and accounts. Itā€™s an important part of our teamā€™s development, especially for those who have not grown up in the world of farming!

Last week, we celebrated Valerieā€™s 5 year anniversary of joining Team McKilligan. Valerie joined a month after Dana, making us a team of 3!

Working in Elaineā€™s home office for the first 18 months before moving into our Sylvadale office, Valerie has kept us organised and is a familiar voice at the end of the phone for our clients.

To mark the occasion, we presented Valerie with flowers and additional holiday entitlement. She is camera shy, so here are her flowers!

Dana was Elaineā€™s very first employee, marking the start of Team McKilligan.

Dana has been a key player in developing some of our team, she gets on really well with our clients, and is always up for some fun.

We had an amazing Turriff Show.

Our first ever trade stand. I said if we were going to do one, we would do it properly.

And we definitely did that šŸŽ‰

We brought together both our businesses ā€“ McKilligan Financial and our own farming business. We had some of our breeding sheep on the stand with a Guess the Weight competition, and also took the opportunity to promote Highland Mule Breeders, a group of sheep farmers selling high-health breeding females from across the Highlands and beyond. Weā€™re proud to be members ourselves.

A huge thank you to our team, most of whom gave up a chunk of their weekend & most of show time to help on the stand. You were brilliant!

It was great to catch up with so many clients, friends, contacts & make new contacts over the two days. Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat and supported us - the support was amazing šŸ„³
