The hardest part of building a deep tech business isn't creating the technology. It's turning that technology into a commercial proposition ๐
Last week, we celebrated the close of VentureCEO Deep Tech, a six-week programme bringing together 14 Seed to Series A founders building the next generation of frontier technologies and category-defining businesses.
Throughout the programme, we explored the challenges that come with scaling deep tech ventures, from commercialisation and IP strategy to fundraising, hiring and finding founder-market fit.
To close the programme, we brought together founders, investors and operators for an honest conversation on the realities of scaling a deep tech business.
A few lessons stood out:
๐ก Fall out of love with your technology and fall in love with your customer
๐ก The best founders don't just tell technology stories; they tell customer stories
๐ก Conviction matters. You don't need every answer today, but you do need a vision that customers, investors and teams can believe in
A huge thank you to all the founders, investors and operators who shared their experiences and made this cohort such a success.
And a special thank you to our partners for supporting the journey.
We can't wait to see what this cohort builds next.
