Hmmmm..... HUGE red flag 🚩

Many (if not ALL) accountants say they "work with Xero."

But what they actually mean is that they log in once a year to download your numbers, use it to create a set of final accounts & tax returns, and then log right back out.

Quick question for my fellow business owners who are using Xero:
When was the last time you checked your opening balances against your last set of final year-end accounts?

If you migrated to Xero from Sage, QuickBooks, or an old spreadsheet a while back, you might be carrying some "ghosts" in the machine 👻

I’m talking about these daft things like:
Opening balances nothing like matching.
Old £2 underpayments that a supplier let you off with years ago but is still showing as due for payment.
Weird stuff that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever!

Xero is highly intelligent, but it won’t flag up if an opening balance is wrong 🛑

If you're trying to make big decisions for your business & relying on data from 2 years ago that may not be correct, then you're fighting an uphill battle.

Fixing a setup mistake takes a little bit of expert unpicking, but it saves days of year-end headaches later.
