🚨 MTD for Income Tax: 7 November 2026 Deadline Approaching

If you’re a sole trader or landlord within Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax, now is the time to make sure your records are ready for the next quarterly update.

📅 Income period: 6 July 2026 – 5 October 2026
⏰ Submission deadline: 7 November 2026

For this quarterly update, you’ll need to ensure your digital records accurately reflect your business or property income and expenses for the relevant period.

✅ Keep your digital records up to date
✅ Check your income and expenses are recorded correctly
✅ Make sure your accounting software is MTD-compatible
✅ Review your records before submitting the quarterly update

💡 Remember: A quarterly update is not the same as a tax return. It is a summary of your income and expenses submitted to HMRC through compatible software.

With MTD becoming an increasingly important part of how sole traders and landlords manage their tax affairs, staying organised throughout the year can make compliance much easier.
