It was a trip down memory lane earlier this week as Theo, Hayden and Luca returned to Lancaster Royal Grammar School to represent Waters & Atkinson at the school's careers fair.

As former LRGS students themselves, they were ideally placed to speak to pupils from Years 7-13 about careers in accountancy, sharing their experiences of progressing from school into the profession and discussing the opportunities available within the industry.

Our team also enjoyed catching up with familiar faces, including former teachers and Headmaster Chris Pyle, while helping students explore the different pathways available after leaving school.

We are always proud to support local schools and engage with the next generation, offering insight into the rewarding and varied careers available in accountancy and professional services.

We were delighted to sponsor the Vale of Lune Rugby match on Saturday. It was a fantastic opportunity to host clients and professional contacts, catch up with familiar faces, and strengthen relationships in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

The hospitality from the Vale of Lune team was excellent, with great food, great company, and a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day.

Hannah had a great time attending the Forrest Hills Wellbeing Day on Thursday.

It was lovely to catch up with the Lancaster University team and connect with so many wellbeing practitioners, speakers and local businesses from across the region. The event created a fantastic opportunity to focus on wellbeing, make new connections and celebrate the positive impact that wellbeing initiatives can have within our community.

It was also great to see the Lancaster University conferences and events facilities at Forrest Hills, which provided a fantastic setting for such a well-attended and engaging event.

Last week, Laura and Jaqueline represented Waters & Atkinson at the CVS Skills Swap Shop in Morecambe.

It was a fantastic opportunity to meet local businesses, charities and community organisations, build new connections and have some great conversations throughout the afternoon.

Alongside information about our services, we were also pleased to display some of our original company ledgers dating back over 130 years, giving visitors a glimpse into our firm's long history within the local business community.

Thank you to the organisers for hosting such a successful event, and to everyone who stopped by our stand to chat with us.

We enjoyed showcasing how we support businesses and individuals across Lancashire, Cumbria and beyond, and look forward to attending more events like this in the future.

We had a great time recently celebrating Opus Advisory Group's Preston 5 year anniversary.

Congratulations to Ian McCulloch and the whole Opus team on this fantastic achievement. It was lovely to catch up with familiar faces, celebrate the journey so far, and recognise everything that has been accomplished over the last five years.

Christopher, Laura, Damien and George enjoyed a great day at the Westmorland County Show yesterday, catching up with contacts from across the region and taking in everything the show has to offer.

The day started with breakfast on the Rathbones stand, thanks to Stephen Blakemore and Charlie Lawson for the invitation and hospitality. It was also great to catch up with Rachael Stephenson and Tim Boardman from Muckle LLP, Mark Hutchinson-Lyons from Oglethorpe Sturton & Gillibrand Solicitors, and Megan and Robyn Snape from Leonard Curtis.

One particular highlight was spotting a David Brown tractor. A well-known and respected name in British agricultural engineering, it naturally caught our attention as it shares its name with our very own David Brown... (if you know, you know!)

Our favourite free-to-play competition, Fantasy Football, is now open for the forthcoming season, and we would like to invite you to join us! The new season kicks off this Friday, 21st August.

Once you have entered a team, you can spend several hours each week pondering the transfers you need to make, or you may decide to make no changes at all.
