The ISA landscape is changing. With the annual allowance for cash ISAs set to fall for under 65s and a new tax charge on interest paid on cash held in non-cash ISAs from April 2027, let’s revisit making the most of today's tax-efficient opportunities. Tax rules can change and the impact of taxation depends on your personal circumstances and where you live. Your capital is at risk when investing in a Stocks and Shares ISA.

Women generally play a vital role in managing household finances, from budgeting and paying bills to keeping day-to-day spending on track. Yet when it comes to longer-term financial decisions such as investing, retirement planning and estate planning, many may be less likely than men to take the lead.

With more women building successful careers and set to benefit from significant wealth transfers over the coming years, their financial influence is growing rapidly. However, confidence hasn't always kept pace with opportunity. Taking control of your long-term financial future can help ensure your money works as hard as you do.

Whether you're planning for retirement, protecting your family or growing your wealth, having a clear strategy can make all the difference. If you're ready to take the lead on your financial future, let's talk it through together

Living longer is good news. But it also changes what retirement could look like.

More people could spend 20, 30 or even 40 years in retirement. That’s a long time to fund without a salary coming in, and it’s something many people might underestimate.

Longer lives are worth celebrating, but they also make planning more important than ever. Relying on the State Pension alone may not support the lifestyle many people hope for later in life. The real risk is putting retirement into the ‘deal with it later’ box and assuming it will work itself out.

The reality is simple.
If retirement could last decades, financial planning needs to keep pace with longevity. Thinking ahead now could make a meaningful difference over the long term.

Many households rely on a regular income to keep everyday life running.
From housing costs and bills to food and family expenses, that steady flow can matter more than people realise.

Yet when illness or injury disrupts earnings, the impact could be significant. Despite this, misconceptions about income protection are still common. Some people assume it only applies in extreme situations. Others believe it isn’t relevant to them or wouldn’t make a meaningful difference.

In reality, income protection could be more flexible and accessible than you think. It’s designed to help support a wide range of circumstances, not just worst case scenarios. There’s also a tendency to overestimate how effective existing safety nets might be, or to underestimate just how dependent households are on regular pay. In some cases, that assumption doesn’t hold up.

The key takeaway is simple.
Understanding what income protection actually covers and challenging common myths can play an important role in building financial resilience and preparing for the unexpected. If you’d like to discuss your protection options, get in touch.
