Last night, we held a joint networking event at Wild Horse Brewing Co with Bone & Payne LLP Solicitors, HSBC and Bathgate Business Finance.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening of conversation, networking and beer tasting, complete with a tour of the brewery.

Thank you to the team at Wild Horse for hosting us, and to everyone who joined us for the evening. 👏

Last week, the team enjoyed our annual summer outing, which this year took us to Chester Races.

It was great to spend some time together outside the office and enjoy the sunshine. 🌞

💯 As part of our centenary year, we have been looking back at our history in Llandudno…

Williams Denton first opened an office in Llandudno in 1985, occupying just one room at 15 Trinity Square.

As the practice grew, we moved to 18 Trinity Square before a significant moment in our Llandudno story came on 1 December 1997, when we acquired the established practice of A A Thomas Evans.

🏢 The acquisition also brought us to San Remo, 13 Trinity Square, which remains home to our Llandudno office today.

This old postcard shows San Remo in an earlier chapter of its own history, when it is believed the building was used as a guest house.

A lot has changed since we first arrived in Llandudno more than 40 years ago, but we are proud to remain part of the town and its business community.

What an incredible weekend at the Gwynedd & Anglesey Relay for Life 2026.

Our Williams Denton team took on the 24-hour challenge and experienced just about every kind of weather along the way, from sunshine to wind and rain 🌦️ 💨

🚶‍➡️🚶‍♀️‍➡️ For every lap completed around the track, the team collected a bead. By the end of the event, we had collected an amazing 252 beads, a brilliant reminder of the determination, teamwork and community spirit that carried everyone through.

We’re incredibly proud to have been part of such an inspiring event, celebrating survivors, remembering loved ones and standing together in the fight against cancer.

🙏 A huge thank you to everyone who took part, supported us, cheered us on or donated. Thanks to your generosity, we’re now so close to reaching our fundraising target of £2,400 for Cancer Research UK.

📅 Making Tax Digital is coming. Is your first quarterly update on your radar?

For sole traders and landlords who are required to join MTD for Income Tax from April 2026, the first quarterly update deadline is currently 7 August 2026.

To stay on track, it is worth preparing now:

🔺 Keep your digital records up to date and accurate
🔺 Check your accounting software is MTD compatible
🔺 Make sure everything is connected correctly
🔺 Review your income and expenses before submission
🔺 Don’t leave it until the last minute
🔺 Understand what information needs to be reported

HMRC confirmed that penalty points will not apply to late quarterly updates during the 26/27 tax year, but the updates must still be submitted before your tax return can be completed. For future years, missed deadlines could lead to penalties under the points-based system.

💯 As part of our 100 Acts of Kindness theme for our centenary year, some of our team have recently been volunteering at RSPB Conwy, where they helped repaint the Carneddau Hide.

🗻The hide is named after the nearby Carneddau mountain range and offers fantastic views across an important habitat for wading birds and wildfowl.

It was an enjoyable day spent away from the office, helping maintain a much-loved local nature reserve. A big thank you to RSPB Conwy for having us.

Phil Davies, one of our Directors, recently delivered a presentation to GP trainees at the Education Centre in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.

🩺The session focused on the financial side of being a GP, covering key areas such as GP partnerships, practice accounts, tax and pensions.

For medical professionals, understanding these areas is an important part of planning for the future and making informed decisions throughout their career.

💬 Phil said: “Understanding the financial side of general practice is vital for GPs at every stage of their career. From partnership structures and practice accounts to tax planning and pensions, good advice can help doctors make informed decisions, plan with confidence and focus on delivering care.”
