5 things worth the money, accountant edition.

Every founder has that moment where they wonder if an accountant is actually worth it, or just another monthly cost. So we asked ours.

Here are the five things our clients say paid for themselves.
1 R&D tax credits claimed properly, cash back into the business
2 An EMI scheme that keeps your best people
3 SEIS and EIS assurance that makes you fundable
4 Deadlines handled before they become fines
5 FD level strategy without the full time salary

The pattern we see, the founders who invest early stop losing weekends to admin and start making sharper decisions with numbers they can actually trust.

Save this for when you’re weighing it up. Which one would change the most for your business?

Investing in our people, one day at a time🧡

Our senior leadership team came together this month for a day focused on collaboration, connection and the future we’re building.

Because great culture doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built by people who show up for each other. And when culture thrives, careers do too.

Here’s to the team behind it all. 💪

The best client experience starts behind the scenes.

One day out of the office.
A stronger team.
Better communication.
Better advice.
Better outcomes for our clients.

That’s why we invested the time.

17/07/2026

Most firms wouldn’t close the office for a day.

We did.

Because the stronger our team is, the better we can support yours.

Every challenge, every conversation and every lesson from this day makes us better accountants, better advisors and better partners to the businesses we work with.

Invest in your people. Your clients will feel the difference.

There’s a tax deadline in 3 weeks that most people don’t know exists.

7 August 2026.

Not January. August.

This is the first mandatory quarterly update under Making Tax Digital for Income Tax — covering 6 April to 5 July 2026.

Who it hits:
➡️ Sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000

What’s changed:
The old rhythm was see your accountant once a year, panic in January, done.

The new rhythm is digital records kept as you go, and a summary sent to HMRC every three months.

Four touchpoints a year instead of one.

Here’s the part people underestimate 👇
The deadline isn’t the hard bit. The setup is.

If you’re still running on a shoebox of receipts and a spreadsheet you update in a fury each April, you cannot file a compliant quarterly update by 7 August. There’s nothing to submit.

So the honest question isn’t ‘when’s the deadline?’

It’s: are my records actually digital, right now, today?

If the answer is ‘not really’ — you’ve got three weeks, and that’s genuinely enough time. In four weeks it won’t be.

Already set up on Xero or similar? You’re probably fine. Worth a sense-check anyway.

Not set up? Let’s fix it this month, calmly, rather than next month, badly.
