๐ŸŽฅ EXCLUSIVE RECORDING: billionaire investment guru Jim Mellon presses the case for investing in Food Systems, AI and Robotics and Energy at Master Investor Show.

Watch the first part of Azam Investment's recording of Jim Mellon's no-holds-barred fireside conversation with Wilfred Frost here on our LinkedIn page. Link in the first comment below to it.

A long-standing pioneer in longevity science and biotech investing through Juvenescence and Agronomics, Jim continues to back this space as one of the great investment themes of the coming decades.

While remaining bearish on the Magnificent 7, Jim believes robotics is the smartest way to play the AI revolution, expecting the robotics market to surpass food and transport in size by 2040.

๐ŸŽฅ EXCLUSIVE | Jim Mellon's Big Investment Calls for 2026

Azam Investments is proud to share a video recording we made of one of the most straight-talking conversations in investing: billionaire investor and Chairman of The Burnbrae Group, Jim Mellon, sits with Wilfred Frost at this year's Master Investor Show for a no-holds-barred fireside interview sharing exactly where he is putting his money in 2026 and why.

Here is a taste of what the investment guru talks about:

โšก Energy: Jim has been aggressively loading up on oil and gas stocks, describing the sector as currently unloved by investors yet critical to the AI and data centre build-out. His view is that energy is one of the best places to invest right now.

๐Ÿฅ‡ Gold and commodities: After a phenomenal run in 2025, Jim has significantly reduced his gold and silver exposure but remains a firm believer in hard assets and base metal miners as the global monetary order shifts.

๐Ÿ’ต De-dollarisation: Jim is deeply sceptical of US dollar dominance long-term and sees the ongoing shift away from dollar-denominated assets as one of the defining macro trends of this decade. He is particularly bullish on the Japanese Yen as his top currency play, and on Asian markets including Indonesia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia and the Philippines.

๐Ÿค– Robotics over AI stocks: While remaining bearish on the Magnificent 7, Jim believes robotics is the smartest way to play the AI revolution, expecting the robotics market to surpass food and transport in size by 2040.

๐Ÿ“‰ US stocks: Jim is unequivocal. US equities are way overpriced relative to the rest of the world, and he expects them to underperform for years to come.

We found this conversation genuinely invaluable. Along with other insights we gained at this year's Master Investor Show, it will directly inform how Azam Investments approaches the markets going forward.

Which shares should you be ditching right now? And which are worth buying?

At this year's Master Investor Show on Saturday, one talk stood out for us:

๐ŸณStephen Yiu, founder and CIO of the thriving WS Blue Whale Growth Fund, presented "Follow the Money: Buy Outperformers, No Second Place." And he delivered exactly that. Stephen revealed which shares his fund has ditched and which he believes are worth buying. He emphasised that settling for second-best in your portfolio is a mistake you cannot afford to make in today's markets.

We filmed the entire talk, and we're sharing it here exclusively. This is a full-length video, not an excerpt.

Stephen's directness about what he is buying and selling, and why, is exactly the kind of insight serious investors need right now.

This presentation, combined with the knowledge we gained from other speakers at this year's Master Investor Show, will help shape how Azam Investments evaluates opportunities in the months ahead.

If you're serious about investing, this video is a must-watch.

๐Ÿ“ If you want to understand where markets are heading, this is the kind of gathering you need to be in the room for.

This week, Azam Investments was invited to the Fundsmith Annual Shareholders' Meeting 2026 at Central Hall Westminster. It was hosted by Sky News business presenter Ian King.

Fundsmith's Chief Executive, the acclaimed investing guru Terry Smith was, as ever, direct, unapologetic and absolutely worth listening to.

He covered the issues that every serious investor should be focusing on right now: the growing concentration of S&P 500 returns in its largest handful of stocks, the structural distortions caused by the explosive rise of passive investing, the dominance of the Magnificent Seven, extreme market volatility even among large caps, and his perspective on Bitcoin ETFs.

We are sharing some of the highlights from the evening in this video. For Azam Investments' EXCLUSIVE full-length videos covering each topic in depth, please see our previous posts here.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Is the S&P 500 becoming dangerously top-heavy? In this exclusive recording from the Fundsmith Annual Shareholders' Meeting, Terry Smith makes a compelling case that the concentration of returns in the index's largest stocks has reached a historic and very risky extreme.

By the end of 2025, the ten largest S&P 500 stocks represented 39% of the index and were responsible for 50% of its annual return. Smith points out this level of concentration has not been seen since 1930, and history offers a sobering lesson about what followed that era.

He also addresses how the relentless growth of passive investing is significantly distorting markets, with trillions of dollars flowing automatically into the largest stocks regardless of their valuation or quality, creating a self-reinforcing cycle that makes life increasingly difficult for active fund managers focused on fundamentals.

This dynamic sits at the heart of Fundsmith's recent underperformance. The fund returned 0.8% in 2025 against a benchmark gain of 12.8%, its fifth consecutive year of trailing the MSCI World Index. Owning only three of the Magnificent Seven (Microsoft, Meta and Alphabet), and refusing to hold them at index weightings on valuation grounds, has cost the fund dearly in relative terms during a period when passive flows have continued to inflate the largest stocks regardless of quality or price.

Yet Smith remains unwavering. Since launch in 2010, the fund has returned 612.9% against the benchmark's 467.6%, and he continues to back the long-term compounding power of quality businesses over the distortions of an increasingly passive-driven market.

This is a video worth watching carefully.

๐Ÿ“Š The rise of passive investing is reshaping markets in ways that few investors fully appreciate. In this exclusive 4-minute clip we recorded at the Fundsmith Annual Shareholders' Meeting, the UK's most renowned investor Terry Smith delivers an astute analysis of what this shift means for funds like Fundsmith.

He examines the outsized influence of the Magnificent Seven on index performance, how passive flows have fundamentally changed market dynamics, and presents an eye-opening look at the scale of volatility now present in today's markets.

He also shares his thoughts on the rise of Bitcoin ETFs and what they represent for the broader investment landscape.

At Azam Investments, we believe understanding these forces is central to making informed, long-term investment decisions. This video is well worth your time.

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ We had the privilege of once again attending the Fundsmith Annual Shareholders' Meeting at Central Hall Westminster, one of the most candid and insightful evenings in the investment calendar.

The meeting was compรจred by Ian King, business presenter of Sky News, who guided a sharp Q&A with Terry Smith (CEO & CIO) and Julian Robins (Head of Research).

In our EXCLUSIVE 8-minute video, Terry Smith speaks openly about Fundsmith's underperformance over the past five years. For instance, in 2025 Fundsmith returned a mere 0.8%, well behind the MSCI World Index's 12.8% gain.

He addresses the key contributors and detractors that have shaped the fund's recent performance, including the extraordinary concentration of index returns in just a handful of mega-cap tech stocks like Nvidia, which alone accounted for 21% of the S&P 500's return while Fundsmith held none.

Smith remained unapologetic about the strategy: buy good companies, don't overpay, do nothing. Since inception in 2010, the fund has still delivered 653% cumulative returns, outpacing the global market's 425%.
Long-term conviction in a world obsessed with short and medium-term noise. ๐ŸŽฏ
