Friday was a very special day in my calendar 🥂

It was the Women of the Year Awards & Luncheon and this year we took my daughter Lucy.

At only 16 she walked into the event and confidently spoke to lots of other guests. Something I could not have done at her age.

I was a proud mum seeing her having conversations with so many people, some she’s met before and some she hadn’t. Bit of a social butterfly (not sure where she gets that from 😆)

An incredible day pulled off by Zalena Vandrewala and the super star team behind her. Congratulations to the finalists and winners and everyone within the WOTY community 💛

Was lovely to catch up with so many people, both familiar and new faces 🫶🏼

Cannot wait until next years🥂

I’m going to say it.

This ‘LinkedIn Language’ can make business owners question what’s real and whether they’re actually doing enough.

Have you seen these types of posts recently: big turnovers, overnight wins, and those ‘I built this in three months’ stories? In the last six months, I’ve seen plenty that leave me wondering: What’s the real story? What did it take to get there? And does that big turnover actually mean more profit?

After years in business, I know headlines rarely tell the full story. A slick post can make success sound simpler and quicker than it actually was.

So take those posts with a pinch of salt. You’re only seeing what someone wants to share, not the whole picture of their business or daily reality. And sometimes seeing these posts can make you feel like you’ve missed the mark, or even cringe a little because it’s clearly just a marketing move designed to grab attention. If your progress feels slow, that doesn’t mean you’re falling behind.

September Highlights

September has flown by! My diary has been full of family time and business appointments. October, and pretty much the rest of the year, is already looking so busy!

Now in my 11th year as a business owner, I’m incredibly grateful to be finding a better balance between growing my business and spending more time with my family.

It’s something I also want to help my business coaching clients achieve, building successful businesses that support their lives, rather than take over them.

Today was session 2 of my group coaching cohort.

I always find after the school holidays a September reset is a great way of getting our focus back to drive us to the end of the year.

We worked on goals & the strategy needed to make it all happen and the ladies are raring to go knowing exactly what the next steps are. No fluff or airy fairy goals under my watch 😆

September is underway!

Q4 is set to be a busy and exciting one with coaching clients as the diary has limited spaces until 2027. It's also time to get those tax returns in order AND a brand-new academic year for those with children and families.

So, with so much going on, my top tip would be to set out three priorities every day.

Resetting this at the start of a new term helps establish routines. Just imagine how many tasks you could complete by Christmas!

The juggle is real! 🤹‍♀️

Summer comes with warmer weather, adventures, holidays and new memories to be made; And juggling a business and summer holidays with the kids is not easy.

That's why you should never feel guilty if you slow your business down throughout August! You don’t have to take your foot off the pedal completely, use this time to reflect, reset and plan for a strong finish to 2026.
