Delaying investing is a common intention.
However, starting earlier allows more time for compounding —
where returns generate further returns over time.
This means even smaller contributions made earlier can grow significantly compared to larger contributions started later.
Time is one of the most influential factors in long-term investing outcomes.

One of the most common investing mistakes isn’t selecting the wrong investment.
It’s reacting emotionally to short-term market movements.
Markets naturally fluctuate, but frequent reactions to headlines can disrupt long-term strategies.
A consistent, long-term approach is often more effective than attempting to time short-term changes.

A new tax year brings a fresh opportunity to review your ISAs and make sure your money is working as hard as possible.
For the 2026/27 tax year, you can invest up to £20,000 into an ISA, and using your allowance early could give your investments more time to grow.🪴
Not sure where to start? We’re here to help you make informed decisions, use your allowances effectively, and create a plan that supports your financial goals, now and for the future.

An ISA is a medium to long term investment, which aims to increase the value
of the money you invest for growth or income or both. The value of your
investments and any income from them can fall as well as rise. You may not get
back the amount you invested.

The UK inflation rate has eased to 2.8%, lower than expected and down from 3.3% previously. While this is a positive sign, inflation remains above the Bank of England’s 2% target.

What’s driving things now?
Lower gas and electricity costs helped bring inflation down
Food inflation has also slowed compared to recent months
However, fuel prices and wider global uncertainty continue to create inflationary pressure
Economists are warning that inflation could rise again later this year if energy and fuel costs continue to increase.

What does this mean for you?
Even with inflation easing, the cost of living is still rising. Inflation continues to affect investment markets, interest rates and the long-term value of savings.

When people think about retirement, they often focus on one number.
But an important consideration is this:
Retirement could last 20–30 years or more.
This means planning needs to account for:
• Long-term income
• The impact of inflation over time
• Sustainability of withdrawals
It’s not just about reaching retirement —
it’s about funding it over several decades.

Life gets busy. Thoughts get loud. Sometimes we just keep going without checking in.
Mental Health Awareness Week is a chance to pause and ask a simple question:
“How am I, really?”
Whether it’s a walk, a chat, or just taking a breather—small moments of care matter more than we think.
