You didn’t start your business to become an expert in tax and bookkeeping 😅

Most people are just figuring it out as they go — and honestly, that’s completely normal.

Self employed people all do this 😅

Every self employed person says “I’ll sort it later” at some point 😅

Then suddenly there’s paperwork everywhere and it feels WAY worse than it actually is.

I get messages all the time saying “I feel silly asking this…” but honestly, most people are in the same position.

Take photos of your receipts.

That’s it.

No piles of paper, no digging through things, no last-minute stress when it comes to your tax return.

This is one of the simplest changes that makes the biggest difference.

You’re not actually supposed to understand this..

You didn’t start your business to learn tax rules — you started it because you’re good at what you do.
Most people are just guessing and hoping they’ve done it right. That’s where stress comes from.
You’ll still need to do your tax return, but it doesn’t need to feel overwhelming.

No one explains this properly..

Most people think they need loads of software to stay on top of their accounts… you don’t 😅
I see this all the time — people paying monthly for things they don’t fully use or even understand. It’s not that it’s complicated, it’s just not explained properly.

With Making Tax Digital coming in, yes you need to be set up properly — but that doesn’t mean overcomplicating it.

💡 TIP: Use what you actually need, not what everyone else says you should have. Simple always works better.
