The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act became law in October 2023. It is designed to help disrupt economic crime and prevent abuse of the Companies House register.

Companies House are aiming to introduce the first set of changes on 4 March 2024. This means that companies may need to make changes to ensure they comply with the new rules.

Key changes include:
• new rules for registered office addresses
• requirement for all companies to supply a registered email address
• new lawful purpose statements

You can find more details on Companies House blog here: https://companieshouse.blog.gov.uk/2024/01/22/get-ready-for-changes-to-uk-company-law/

If you have any questions about this, or need help to ensure you comply, contact us at [email protected] or call 020 3411 4401.
