Finance Bill 2026

Dividends are distributed to shareholders by companies both private and public from the profits which remains after corporate tax at the rate of 5% and 10% for residents and non residents respectively.

Since at times some companies opt to use these funds for expansion purposes and growth instead of distributing them as dividends, arbitrarily treating 60% of them as dividends by the government may bring a lot of complications.
