We need peace . Call on Thailand to easefire
Respected Leaders and Fellow Citizens of the Kingdom of Thailand,
As a Cambodian national who values peace, regional cooperation, and the dignity of all Southeast Asian peoples, I stand today with a sincere and urgent call — to cease all acts of violence along our shared border and to return to the path of dialogue, mutual respect, and lawful resolution.
The recent clashes not only threaten the safety of innocent civilians on both sides but also endanger the spirit of friendship that our two nations have worked so long to nurture. We must not let bullets and aggression replace diplomacy and trust.
I respectfully urge the Royal Government of Thailand and its armed forces to:
Cease all military actions immediately in the spirit of ASEAN solidarity.
Uphold and respect the decisions of the International Court of Justice, which has served as a neutral and authoritative voice in resolving our historical disputes — especially those related to the sacred territory of Preah Vihear and adjacent areas.
Commit to peaceful dialogue through official channels, joint commissions, and multilateral frameworks already in place.
Let us not allow the mistakes of the past to repeat themselves. Our borders should not be lines of conflict, but rather bridges of culture, trade, and shared development. Let peace prevail — not just for today, but for future generations of Cambodians and Thais.
As brothers and sisters in this region, we owe it to our people to stop the fighting, restore peace, and show the world that Southeast Asia chooses respect, justice, and peace over confrontation.
May harmony return swiftly.
May peace triumph.
Thank you.
