You might be surprised by what you discover when you ask yourself the right questions.

I recently attended our company Strategic Review 2.0.

With Merdeka around the corner, we came dressed in the colours of the Malaysian flag and celebrated the different cultures that make Malaysia, Malaysia. 🇲🇾

One reflection session gave me three simple questions that I found surprisingly helpful:

1. What's working?
What should we continue doing?

2. What's stalling?
What's been on our list for too long without real progress?

3. What has changed in the environment?
And how do we need to adapt?

Simple questions.

But sometimes, we're so busy moving forward that we forget to pause and reflect.

Maybe we don't always need a big change.

Sometimes, we just need to take a step back and ask the right questions.

So, if you were to pause and review your life today — personal, work, finances, health — what would you say is working, what's stalling, and what needs to change?

Pick one area and share it with me below. 👇

“I think I would be losing sleep right now.”

I had a check-in with a couple I work with after the recent market correction.

So I asked them,

“How are you feeling about your finances?”

They shared that without a financial planner, they would probably feel anxious and uncertain.

And then they said:
“I’m only confident because we have you.”

Honestly, I don't take that lightly.

I can't tell them when the market will go up or down.

What I can do is help them step back and look at the bigger picture.

Their cash flow.
Emergency fund.
Investments
Protection.
Retirement.
Estate Planning.
Financial Goals

And most importantly, how these pieces work together.

Because when markets fall, it's easy to start questioning everything:

Should we sell?
Should we stop investing?
Are we still on track?

But when your investments have a purpose and are connected to your overall financial plan, a market correction becomes something to review—not something that automatically changes your direction.

Sometimes, the value of having a financial planner isn't about having all the answers.

It's having someone to help you make sense of things when things feel uncertain.

I'm grateful that my clients trust me to be that person.

This year, I had a little realization.

I asked myself,

“Why haven’t I been keeping in touch with my friends?”

And then I realised…

It wasn’t that I didn’t care about them.

Life just got busy.

Work. Deadlines. Everyday things.

And somehow, “let’s meet soon” became something I kept saying but never actually planned.

So back in June, I finally initiated a get-together with my girls.

And we made it happen in July.

Of course, thank you to those who said YES!

It made me think about something else:

What’s the one thing that keeps coming to your mind, but you haven’t actually worked on yet?

Maybe it’s your finances.

Building your emergency fund.
Starting to invest.
Reviewing your insurance.
Planning for retirement.

We often put these things aside because they don’t feel urgent.

Until another year passes.

So, take a moment to ask yourself:

“What’s one thing about my finances I’ve been putting off?”

Tell me in the comments, or DM me if you’d rather keep it private.

Should employees opt out from Lindung24 Jam?

This was the question I was invited to share my thoughts on in a recent China Press interview. 📰

One thing I always remind my clients is this:

Financial planning is rarely about asking,
"Is this product good?"

A better question is,
"Does this fit into my overall financial plan?"

For some people, Lindung24 Jam can be a cost-effective way to strengthen their protection.

For others, they may already have sufficient coverage elsewhere.

The answer isn't the same for everyone.

That's why I believe financial planning should always start with understanding the bigger picture—your financial goals, cash flow, emergency fund, investments, existing protection, retirement planning, wealth transfer, and how all these pieces work together.

Only then can you decide whether a financial decision truly supports the life you're building.

I'm grateful to China Press for the opportunity to share my perspective on this topic.

If you've ever wondered whether you're making the right financial decisions—or simply want to know whether you're on track towards your financial goals—I'd be happy to have a conversation.

Because financial planning isn't about buying more products.

It's about building a life where every financial decision has a purpose. 🌱

I left the Invest Fair with one thought.

I need to do more.

More conversations.
More education.
More people know that financial planning services exist.

Out of the 12 people who explored financial planning with me during Invest Fair 2026, one sentence has stayed with me.

"I've been looking for a financial planner for the past few years."

He shared that he had been struggling with debt.

Ironically, things were manageable when he was earning less.

But life changed.

An investment property reached vacant possession.
A career transition happened.
Cash flow became tighter.

That's when the anxiety started.

Every night.

He even paid a substantial fee to a debt restructuring service.

But the worry didn't go away.

Because while the debt was being restructured...

The root cause wasn't.

There wasn't a holistic financial plan.

Financial planning isn't just about reducing debt.

It's understanding how your cash flow, investments, insurance, property, retirement, estate planning and financial goals all work together.

Because when one piece changes, everything else is affected.

Sometimes, what people need isn't another financial product.

They need someone to help them see the full picture.

How healthy are your finances... really? 💭

We often go for health screenings, but rarely stop to check on our financial health.

Are you on track for your goals?
Could your money be working harder?
Are there gaps you've never noticed?

This weekend, I'll be at INVEST FAIR 2026 conducting complimentary Financial Planning Discovery Sessions.

A Discovery Session is a relaxed, no-obligation conversation where we'll talk about:
✨ Your current financial situation
✨ Your financial goals
✨ Any challenges you're facing
✨ Whether there are opportunities to strengthen your financial plan

No documents.
No sales pressure.
No commitment.

Think of it as a first conversation—an opportunity to understand your financial journey and see whether holistic financial planning can add value to your goals.

If you've been meaning to start, this could be your first step. 😊

I found myself shaking my head recently.

I was walking around Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad when I stumbled upon the Kuala Lumpur Library.

My first thought was,
"Why have I never thought of borrowing books from a library?"

E-books are convenient, but I still enjoy reading physical books more. (Anyone else? 🙋🏻‍♀️)

Sometimes, we simply don't know what we don't know.

That moment reminded me of a client.

During his financial planning report presentation, he kept shaking his head as we went through the findings.

He was looking at the gaps in his financial plan.

It felt like receiving an exam paper covered with red marks.
The first thought that came to his mind was,
"I should have done better."

I smiled and told him,
"It's completely normal to have gaps. What's more important is that you can see them now."

Because awareness isn't something to be ashamed of.
It's the beginning of better decisions.

Whether it's discovering a library...
Or discovering gaps in your finances...

You can't improve what you don't know exists.

💭 Financial planning isn't about being perfect. It's about seeing the full picture, so you know what to keep doing and what to improve.

If you've ever wondered whether you're on track towards your financial goals, perhaps it's time for a conversation.

15 minutes before heading to my meeting, the ride was RM16 on Grab and RM23 on Bolt.

Naturally, I chose Grab.

By the time I was ready to leave, the Grab fare had jumped to RM21.

Wah, so fast.

Out of curiosity, I checked Bolt again. The RM23 ride had dropped to RM15.

It reminded me of the Chinese saying: 货比三家 — compare before making a decision.

This doesn't only apply to buying things.

We often make financial decisions based on the first number we see — an investment, insurance plan, loan package, or property.

Sometimes, taking a few extra minutes to compare, ask questions, and understand our options can lead to a very different outcome.

Not because the cheapest option is always the best.

But because good financial decisions are rarely made in a rush.

Sometimes, all it takes is one more look.

Like many things in life, it's about sustainability.
