How we chose the name Atui
Atui Consulting Limited is named after the Tui bird because of its vibrant personality, spiritual connection and confident traits. The Tui is a national heritage bird – in Maori culture, the Tui bird is associated with life fulfillment, confidence, and spiritual harmony. They are said to be messengers of the Gods and believed to act as a medium to communicate with them i

n Maori beliefs. Tui are fascinating birds, who mainly eat nectar from flowers of native plants such as kōwhai, puriri, rewarewa, kahikatea, pohutukawa, rātā and flax, they also eat fruits and berries. Occasionally they will eat insects, too. Tui fiercely protect their feeding claim to particular trees and generally live in native forests. However, with the variety of NZ native trees being planted in domestic environments. Tui are present in many home gardens. They make a variety of different sounds to ward off trespassers who dare to encroach on their patch, to attract mates, and can also be trained to emanate humans. The colours of the Tui are beautiful, a mainly black torso, with iridescent green/blue around their head, and have pronounced white tuft balls on their chest. They are important pollinators of many native trees, and Atui idealizes them as being a pollinator to our people and their business.

BANANA BOXES OF FIREWOOD:

As you know the guys down at the Menz Shed were upcycling and making planter boxes. Thank you all for the support – they got many orders and now a waiting line, probably due mainly to the Taumarunui Bulletin picking up the article and publishing it. But that is what community is all about, isn’t it?

So, the boys are selling the final leftovers as firewood. They are packed full in Banana Boxes (see pictures): 👍‍🪓

Advocacy at Atui Consulting Limited covers two main areas namely Restorative Practice and Advocacy Services. These include client communication, information sharing, pre-conference and assessment, case approval, meeting facilitation, outcome reporting, employment matters, representation, guidance and support. This area of work emanated from a desire to support those less fortunate. Atui is passionate about individual values, where society doesn’t always recognise that every person is entitled to a voice and be treated with the respect they deserve.

ATUI Consulting LTD

ATUI Consulting LTD is a result of decades of experience doing accounts and business administration for medium to large corporations throughout New Zealand. ATUI has finally settled in Taumarunui and feels that it can make a positive impact within the local community. Here is our story.

My husband and I visited Taumarunui a few years ago and were impressed with the wide open spaces, the immediately friendly nature of the community and the beautiful, wild countryside, with its glorious mountains, and rivers offering a panorama of beauty. We both sincerely fell in love with the region and decided it was likely to be our final resting place.

After purchasing a modest property near the golf course, we have fully embraced the town and its surrounding region and regret we didn’t shift here years ago. We are members of the ‘Menz Shed, Toastmasters, Grey Power, Enterprising Taumarunui Incorporated, Community Patrols and SPCA (as an animal lover, a personal; favourite of mine).

From relocation to now, I have undertaken roles on a temporary basis with businesses in the town, from administration to customer services and each has provided me with satisfaction. I value the warm relationships I have with fellow residents and enjoy a great social life.
