The current inflation sits at 3% as announced today. This is bit high but within the limits though . There is an announcement due on OCR in November . It was expected to have a 25 basis points cut but these number could play a vital role in that. The currentOCR is 2.5%.

The latest unemployment sits at 5.2% . This is quite high . The government needs to take some actions by creating a stimulus and flowing the money in the economy to keep the unemployment rate low. So the probability of OCR going down to 2.5% could be likely.

The inflation numbers are out today which is 2.5%. Its still under the target range of RBNZ of 3%. But RBNZ will take a cautious approach while deciding the interest rates cut as they need to factor the current tariff chaos going on as that will also result in inflation. So there might rates cut but at slow pace and might don’t go under 3% at this stage.
