𝐁𝐈𝐑 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐞𝐀𝐅𝐒 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has issued 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐦 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 (𝐑𝐌𝐂) 𝐍𝐨. 𝟒𝟔-𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, extending the deadline for the submission of Audited Financial Statements (AFS) and other required attachments through the Electronic Audited Financial Statements System (eAFS).

The extension was issued to assist taxpayers who encountered technical or system-related issues during the recent Annual Income Tax Return (AITR) filing season.

Taxpayers who were unable to successfully upload their AFS and attachments through the eAFS facility on or before May 15, 2026 may still submit or re-submit their documents through the system until May 25, 2026 without penalties arising solely from late submission.

The extension also covers taxpayers who submitted their AFS and attachments through the BIR’s prescribed contingency email procedure but have not yet received an official acknowledgment receipt from the concerned BIR office.

The BIR clarified, however, that the extension applies only to the submission of AFS and required attachments through eAFS. It does not extend the deadline for filing the Annual Income Tax Return itself.

Meanwhile, taxpayers who were able to submit their documents through the official BIR email addresses on or before May 15, 2026 and received an email acknowledgment from the concerned office are already considered compliant with the eAFS attachment submission requirements. In these cases, re-submission through the eAFS facility is no longer required, although taxpayers may still upload their documents through the system voluntarily.

Taxpayers affected by eAFS upload issues are advised to take note of the extended deadline and ensure compliance within the prescribed period.

𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐚𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐍𝐘 𝐞𝐁𝐈𝐑𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐄𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

We encountered a situation in 𝐞𝐁𝐈𝐑𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐯𝟕.𝟗.𝟔 where the tax return showed “𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐝”, but 𝐍𝐎 BIR email confirmation was received at all.

After testing several settings, the following steps worked on our end and the BIR acknowledgment email was received within a few minutes:

Before applying the above steps, please consider the following:

• Running an application as Administrator gives the software elevated access to your computer.
• Only do this for trusted applications downloaded from the official BIR website.
• Avoid filing while connected to public Wi-Fi especially when running applications as Administrator.
• It is safer to use:
Home Wi-Fi
Office Wi-Fi
Trusted private networks
• Allowing apps through firewall may increase exposure depending on your network setup.

Save PDF copy of return
Save payment confirmation, if applicable

The deadline for filing and payment of the 2025 Annual Income Tax Return (AITR) has been extended until May 15, 2026 (from April 15, 2026), pursuant to RMC No. 30-2026.

While there’s more time, early filing is still the best practice to avoid last-minute issues.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has extended the temporary use of the 2020 General Information Sheet (GIS) Form for filing through eFAST until 15 May 2026.

Corporations that are still setting up their eSECURE accounts may continue to use the 2020 GIS Form during this extended period.
