"Growing up, there were no fancy birthday parties or professional photoshoots. Just moments captured when cousins and relatives took their own pictures, and we happened to be there. This is one of the earliest pictures I have with my two siblings. My parents didn’t have the luxury of owning a camera or even a phone to preserve these memories, we didn’t even have pictures when we were babies, so we do not actually know how we looked like when we were infants. I remember when my professor in Humanities told us to bring our “baby pictures” and I was not able to submit one and I cannot tell the class that I never had a picture when I was a baby. Despite the challenges, our bond was the greatest gift, and looking at this photo, I’m reminded of how far we’ve come—no fancy birthday celebrations, just love and care for each other in every moment."
