This shortest verse in the Bible carries one of the deepest truths about God’s heart. When Jesus wept at Lazarus’ tomb, He showed that He is not distant from our pain but enters into it with us. His tears reveal His compassion, His empathy, and His love for humanity. He feels what we feel, reminding us that we are never alone in our grief or struggles.

“Jesus wept” is more than just an account of sorrow, it is a reminder that God understands our emotions and carries them with us. His tears point to His humanity, while His power to raise Lazarus points to His divinity. Together, they reveal a Savior who not only comforts us in our suffering but also brings hope, restoration, and life even in the darkest moments.
