Established in 1968, Chartered Accountants Students’ Association (CASA) was primarily formed to bridge the existing gap between ICAP and the trainee students of the Institute. Since its formation, CASA has sailed through a rough, yet interesting path for over the last 48 years as a society of students elected by students themselves and committed to serving the best interests of student fraternity.
To organize lectures, meetings, debates, symposia and to take steps towards the advancement of its student members in the knowledge of theory and practice of Accountancy;
2. To promote social, cultural, career counseling and intellectual development of the student members so as to widen their education for the profession and create a fellow feeling among them;
3. To organize trips and tours to important industrial and commercial organizations and financial institutions so as to afford opportunities to its student members to have an insight into such establishments;
4. To organize community service events with the prior approval of the respective Regional Committee;
5. To co‐ordinate similar efforts being made by other bodies for the benefit of the members of the association;
7. To make representations to the Regional Committee or the Council of the Institute on matters concerning the common interest of the students;
8. To suggest suitable arrangements, if possible, for short‐term training for its student members in industrial, commercial and financial institutions; and
9. Such other functions as the Council may direct from time to time for the attainment of the afore‐mentioned objectives. CASA- North is the part of this association that specifically focuses the needs of the students of the North Region as per ICAP rules.
